Designers will be required to submit a separate design for all 3 categories (color + materials, functional apparel, and footwear design) in order to apply!

Announce + vote for top 32 in each category. The public votes among their favorites from each category to decide who advances to the next round. There will be a limited time for voting between each round, so it will be extremely important for designers to self-promote their work and gain voting support!

After the top 2 contestants in each category are announced, they will then be given a special design challenge to work on for the finals at PUMA’s HQ in Boston, Massachusetts, United States.
Travel and hotel accommodations for the trip to Boston will be covered at no cost to the contestants.

Challenge Day in Boston
The 6 semi-finalists (top 2 contestants in each category) will work on the in-person part of their final challenge at PUMA’s HQ.
The 6 semi-finalists will present their work in front of representatives from PUMA, Foot Locker, and Pensole. The strongest contestant of each category will be crowned as the World Sneaker Champion for Color + Materials, Functional Apparel, and Footwear Design, respectively!
In addition, each champion will have their winning design see a limited run production and launch through PUMA + Foot Locker!
Release of Final Product
The winning designs are expected to be available for the public to purchase during the spring 2021 season.
Throughout 2020, in the lead-up to launch, we will provide glimpses into the development of each design, to keep the story going!
